EcoBond is a thermoplastic adhesive film applied to sole components directly during molding and protected by a removable PE layer that keeps the surface clean throughout production and handling. The client receives a sole with the adhesive already in place: the surface only needs to be reactivated at around 70-80°C before being pressed to the upper. By eliminating brushing, primer application, cleaning and bonding operations, EcoBond reduces manual steps and makes the assembly process faster, cleaner and more controlled.
Reused with purpose.
We recover polyurethane residues from pre-bonding and machine cleaning, grind them and reuse them inside PU wedges protected by film or TPU shells. This reduces production waste by 5-10% and gives recycled material a precise role within the sole. Since recycled PU can lose mechanical performance and hydrolysis resistance when mixed with new foam, the POD Skin system keeps it inside the structure as a lightweight filler for comfort and thermal insulation, while the outer protection delivers the resistance and durability the midsole needs.
A more responsible construction, with performance protected where it matters most.
Renewed from within.
We selectively devulcanize rubber recovered from sole trimming waste and production scraps, bringing valuable material back into the cycle. Working at ambient temperature and pressure, the process reduces environmental impact and prepares the material for a new technical life.
Certified circular performance.
Our rubber formulations can include 20% to 40% recycled content while maintaining high-performance standards. In April 2021, Rubbermac became the first company in Europe to obtain GRS certification for a high-performance rubber tread, proving that circular materials can meet the demands of technical footwear.
